An attendee may give only one poster or oral presentation, but may also serve as a co-author on an unlimited number of presentations submitted by other registered attendees. The title and abstract of the presentation will be printed in Bulletin of the Herpetological Society of Japan.
・Oral presentation: 12 min for presentation, 3 min for Q & A session.
PC Projectors (Office Power Point and Adobe Acrobat Reader for Windows) will be available.
・Poster presentation: Poster size, 90 cm (width) × 150 cm (height) in maximum.
* Note that only HSJ members in good standing (i.e., those who have paid the membership fee for this year) can give a presentation.

Fujukan, the Museum of the University of the Ryukyus, displays several items from its collections of natural history, art, and archeology. Indigenous terrestrial and freshwater animal/plants in the garden, and live animals including a Japanese Black-breasted Leaf Turtle (Geoemyda japonica), Yellow-margined Box Turtle (Cuora flavomarginata evelynae), Habu Pit Viper (Protobothrops flavoviridis), Himehabu Pit Viper (Ovophis okinavensis), and a Shima-yagi (a local race of domestic goat), are also on exhibit.
Fujukan is arranging a special exhibition to show the herpetofaunal diversity in the Ryukyus as follows.
“Amphibians and reptiles of the Ryukyus—Fujukan’s collection”
Venue: Fujukan, the university museum
Period: 26th November–22th December
Open: 10:00–20:00 (26th and 27th November); 10:00–16:00, Mon to Fri (other days)

In this event, several specimens that bear out the diversity and distribution of amphibians and reptiles in this region will be exhibited from the collection of Tetsuo TAKARA, the first director of this museum. Additionally, fossil/subfossils (and replicas) of these animals such as turtles from the late Pleistocene of the Ryukyus (including Geoemyda amamiensis), amphibians from the late Pleistocene and middle Holocene of southern Okinawajima Island, and amphibians and reptiles from modern deposits on Yoronjima Island will also be displayed.
